Darcie Sternenberg (b. 1965) is a southern Oregon-based black and white photographer who prefers to search for images in the everyday, a deliberate process of visulaizing the familiar, forgotten or unnoticed in an extraordinary way. Born in Tacoma, Washington, she earned a B.S. in microbiology at Oregon State Univeristy and an M.D. at Washington University in St. Louis. After a number of years in private practice nephrology, she left the world of science to pursue art.
