I am a good member and this will be my third year, the first year, you get a very good deal on membership, and the rest of the years, there are no discounts. This is not a problem, because the frequency of updates compared to the price I’d pay at for the same variety at a gym makes it a steal!

My main critique is non-responsive customer service and the heavy weight that GHUTV puts on you being a Facebook member in order to access the community benefits, and in one case, crucial information.

If you want a Facebook-based community, that’s fine, but because it is not sold as one, I would assume I have equal access to everything on offer (except the Facebook group, obviously). My gripe here is I paid the price for the retreat weekend and although I was emailed the exclusive link to day 1, I was never given the link to day 2. I was able to figure it out after some guesswork, but I missed out on the live element (which I rarely get to enjoy as I do not use Facebook, so I don’t have that community access).

Live events are hard, so we can chalk it up to being chaotic, but the so-called “operators” on hand didn’t help me when I emailed them and my comment was ignored or missed in the chat box. I did a follow-up email after the weekend to ask why I wasn’t sent the link to day 2 (even though I paid both days) and have no received any response since then.

I also had questions about the downloads, since they kept referring to downloads (multiple), but the only download I got access to was a fill-in kind of sheet or questionnaire. Maybe the Facebook group got access to multiple downloads so I wanted someone to just list what we got for the payment.

Still, nobody replied.

So my conclusion is this: Chris freytag is an excellent instructor (DVD follower for over a decade!) and the GHUTV instructors are also all fantastic. The content itself is GREAT GREAT GREAT value for your money!!

However, the fact that multiple attempts to email different customer service representatives turned up fruitless and that I felt very left out and left behind is hard to get over. It feels like a high school clique all over again. I shouldn’t be peer pressured to download an app and make an invasive account with a third-party platform in order to have my queries answered. Just answer the customer service emails! I have the feeling Facebook members get their concerns resolved, and then as far as their marketing team is concerned, they don’t care about anybody else, even though we pay the same fees.

If their operations side isn’t a snobby clique, then it is so barebones that they can only afford to operate the social media side. In that case, that needs to shape up. Otherwise, this would be a perfect 5.

I would say, I probably wouldn’t do the retreat again because I was looking forward to being part of the gang for once but was ultimately left behind and not provided any assistance. They also didn’t provide the second-day link in the email and didn’t acknowledge this or explain why.

So yeah? Mixed feelings, but great workout results.
