This was a gift from my son and daughter-in-law, something I never expected to have. Now that I have it I would be lost without it. As far as installation goes, I have no idea my son installed it. I also got the ring doorbell chime, but I can't keep that going. I rely heavily on my cell phone and set that to barking dogs when there is someone at my door. Aside from the chime not working, the doorbell works wonderfully, again I'm happy to have it.

I need a wifi extender, but it mostly works well. I wish its motion detection was faster or more responsive timewise, but for the price it's fine for now. The app is slow, but it usually does the job for my purposes, which for this camera is a milder security need.
I know a lot more about my area now by using the app. A camera is not needed to use the app. Do keep your protect your identity using the app if you comment on posts. Overall, it's definitely better than peeping
