I like to make my own watercolors. I’m not an artist, I don’t draw or paint, I just like to make watercolors. I do however LOVE to color as a way to relax and destress. I’ve been searching forever for a coloring book to use with watercolors and haven’t been able to find any. They’re all made to teach you to paint, which is not what I’m looking for. Coloring books marketed at adults tend to have images that are so intricate and maximalist they cause me stress instead of helping me relax. This coloring book however is PERFECT! The images are nice and big giving you plenty of real estate to use colors on. The outlines are bold and thick making it easy to color inside the lines. The images are both cute and comfy, nothing stressful to see here! The book is made with the intention of being used with markers or color pencils but my preferred medium is watercolors. I layered a scrap piece of paper behind the pages I was coloring on and went to town with my watercolors. The paper is sturdy enough to hold the water and absorb the pigment. There is some bleedthrough happening but again, I’m not using the book for it’s intented purpose. Overall I’m incredibly happy with this coloring book, the quality of the pages, the topic and quality of the drawings, and for the price I’m getting hours of stress-free time. And I’m so happy to get to use the watercolos I make!
