The dramatic cover photo sparked my curiosity at first. I wondered if it would be a good introduction (as the title said) to airplanes for my son.

The many colourful photos accompanied by technical data gave a sense of the size, power and capabilities of each airplane shown. My son loves his "reference" book and quotes technical specs of various airplanes to my mildly interested wife...😆

It is easy reading for even adults who may want to learn a little more about aviation history - without getting into aviation nerd territory. My son's school librarian apparently saw him reading it during a school library period and asked him what he liked the most in the book and why. He told her that enjoyed the real life stories the most because they were exciting.
