Description

HHIP 12P #7 14.5 Degree gear cutter diameter is 2-5/8". Arbor hole is 1". Made from high speed steel. Ground from solid. Bright finish. Straight teeth on periphery of cutters. For spur gears with 14.5 degrees & 20 degrees. Involute gear cutters make it possible to machine gears on your CNC or manual mill. The gear cutter is made into the involute profile which transfers it's shape to your gear blank allowing it to run with other gears. The gear cutter needs to be matched to your gear specifications including diametral pitch or module, pressure angle and the number of teeth it will cut. The profile of all involute spur gears changes slightly as the tooth count changes and so the profile of the gear cutter changes as well. Cutters are numbered from #1-#8 depending on how many teeth it will cut.
